Croatia: Dubrovnik or Zagreb?

I am going Interailing this summer and would love to visit Croatia but am having a hard time choosing which city to visit. I am 19, will be going with college friends and am interested in cultural touristy stuff, beaches, and nightlife. I'm pretty much open to anything! any info/advive would be greatly appreciated!
