I am reading a book on personality disorder, I would like your opinion on this quote about religion?

With ritual, there are at least some things we can always depend on to be the same. In religious services, we hear the same hymns over and over, week after week, and year after year, so they acquire a comforting familiarity that reaches deeply inside. The music may connect us to our own childhood, with others around us, and with timeless traditions. For some people, unfortunately, the religion of their youths is not so comforting. Rather, it represents the pretense and hypocrisy of abusive adults.
